Improvisation Distillation in the forest - Day 4
My intention when I started filming was to try to work with one song the entire time I was researching, and that song was of course going to be Here Comes the Sun by Nina Simone. However after filming myself just working on the introduction and first verse around 5 times (the last time is not shown in the above video) I found I wanted a little more freedom and I found that the “lightness” in the song inspired a certain lightness in my movement that I couldn’t move away from. However this little video I found was an interesting side by side comparison of how I move in different ways and pick up on different threads when dancing to the same track. That’s not to say there isn’t reptition and habitual movement but I was surprised at how different each interpretation was. Also, the start of this video just shows the glamour and precision involved in the setting up of these shots whilst working independently…
